VISA REQUIREMENTS
Most non-East African travelers need a Tanzanian visa to enter Zanzibar.
Visa type: Tourist visa
Cost: USD 50 (most nationalities); USD 100 for U.S. citizens
Validity: 90 days, single entry

On arrival at Zanzibar International Airport (expect queues)
Documents usually required:
Valid passport (6+ months validity)
Return flight ticket
Hotel reservation or host details
Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate (mandatory if traveling from or transiting through a risk country)
FLIGHT
From Europe/North America/Asia:
Most flights connect via Doha (Qatar Airways), Dubai (Emirates/FlyDubai), Addis Ababa (Ethiopian Airlines), or Nairobi/Dar es Salaam.
Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ) is the main entry point.
Health & Safety
Vaccinations: Yellow Fever (mandatory from risk countries), Hepatitis A, Typhoid recommended.
Malaria: Zanzibar is a malaria zone—carry repellent and consult your doctor about prophylaxis.
Water: Drink bottled or filtered water only.
Insurance: Get travel insurance covering medical + trip delays.
